Seeking individuals who are flexible and able to work on short notice as a substitute instructor, or as a studio assistant, when one of my regular employees is unable to work due to illness, personal emergency or whatever. You may apply for either or both of the jobs below. Work would be intermittent.
1.Instructors should have advanced throwing skills, be a good communicator, and patient. (All our classes are wheel work.)
2.Studio assistants do a variety of studio tasks. You could be covering the gallery, and in your free time loading bisque kilns, pugging clay, drying pots to leather-hard and moving them into damp storage, assisting with glazing, wet-mixing glazes, helping with maintenance and repairs, or any of the myriad tasks involved in keeping a pottery studio running. You should be able to easily lift and carry 50-pound boxes of clay repeatedly . Studio assistant hours are noon to five Tuesday through Saturday. Those are the hours that Bennett currently works. Bennett is going to continue working for me. I’m not looking to replace him. However, when he is sick or on vacation, I would like somebody to cover for him.
If either of the above interest you please contact me at: dan45@fireborn.com
Send photos of your work if applying for the instructor position.
