Classes at Fireborn are about learning, not production. Students wishing to do
production throwing, make sets of dinnerware, pots for sale or large sized pots
should consider another facility. This is because there is a limited amount of room to
store and fire student work, and also the discounted price students pay for clay and
firing does not adequately cover the expenses of firing and glazes.
This should not affect any students who make a variety of forms of different sizes
and complexity, and who spend time on detail. It is intended to curb production of
people making as much as they can as fast as they can and as big as they can.
As a guide line, in an 8 week class you should not use more than 75 pounds of clay
or make pots larger than:
